Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage, assess, and prioritize emergency patients with speed and compassion
• Provide advanced clinical care and interventions for acute and trauma cases
• Lead and participate in resuscitation and rapid response teams when needed
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting thoroughly in the chart
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate care
• Use critical thinking to evaluate changing patient conditions and escalate appropriately
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain practice standards
• Maintain accurate license and certification records and comply with health requirements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to verify license/certification)
• Emergency Room nursing experience and comfort in high-acuity settings
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
• NIHSS certification or competency for stroke assessment
• Ability to pass Trinity-specific competency testing, drug screen, fit test, and required vaccinations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Trauma resuscitation and critical care nursing knowledge
• Proficiency with NIHSS stroke scale and acute stroke workflows
• Medication administration and IV/infusion management
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic health record navigation
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis leadership abilities
• Ability to perform under pressure with sound clinical judgment
