Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in ICU, Emergency, and Medical-Surgical/Pediatric settings
• Perform thorough assessments, initiate appropriate interventions, and evaluate patient responses
• Respond rapidly and competently to emergencies and critical situations
• Collaborate daily with the House Supervisor and interdisciplinary team to accept unit assignments
• Float to other departments when qualified — support patient loads or provide task-oriented assistance as needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and comply with orientation and facility compliance requirements
• Participate in unit-based teamwork, handoffs, and effective communication to ensure continuity of care
• Support patient and family education, comfort, and safety during high-acuity periods

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for practice in Arizona
• Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience including ALL three areas: Emergency, Medical-Surgical/Pediatrics, and Intensive/Critical Care
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Moderate Sedation certification required or willingness to obtain per facility process
• Proven ability to work 12-hour night shifts and to float across units
• Comfortable working weekends and holidays and adapting to shifting unit needs
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage high-acuity patients, and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage skills
• Critical care management including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring
• Medical-Surgical and pediatric patient care
• Medication administration, IV therapy, and moderate sedation practices
• Ability to function in a float/rapid-assignment environment
• Familiarity with compliance, orientation processes, and unit-based protocols
• Excellent teamwork, prioritization, and task-oriented support (call lights, phones, etc.)
