Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in the emergency setting
• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care for acute and urgent needs
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per protocol
• Monitor patients’ status and escalate concerns to providers as needed
• Document patient care clearly and efficiently in the chart
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
• Respond to emergency situations with calm, evidence-based interventions
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and next steps

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California or compact license as applicable
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or required depending on site
• Minimum ER / acute care nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced emergency environment
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency nursing assessment
• IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Cardiac and respiratory monitoring skills
• Familiarity with acute care workflows and rapid documentation
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks under pressure
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
