Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Manage ventilators, vasoactive drips and other advanced therapies safely
• Administer medications and document care accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and discharge planning
• Recognize and respond to acute changes in patient condition quickly and effectively

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Previous critical care/ICU experience preferred
• Comfortable with advanced monitoring, ventilator care and infusion therapy
• Strong teamwork, communication and clinical decision-making skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and differential diagnosis
• Mechanical ventilation management and titration
• Vasoactive and titratable medication administration
• Familiarity with ICU equipment, monitors and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and ICU-level safety protocols
