Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe patient care throughout the overnight shift
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Respond to emergencies, initiate interventions, and escalate when needed
• Educate patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions
• Promote a safe environment by adhering to infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current RN license (California) — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) — preferred
• Previous medical-surgical or acute care experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment skills and reliable critical thinking
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment and clinical observation skills
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Proficient charting and documentation practices
• Familiarity with standard infection control procedures
• Effective communication and teamwork under pressure
• Time management and prioritization for high-acuity settings
