Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients to improve mobility, function, and strength using individualized rehabilitation plans
• Document evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries accurately in the EMR
• Supervise PT Assistants and Aides to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
• Communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and follow-up
• Manage patient transfers, mobility assistance and provide safe ambulation supervision
• Apply ICD-10/DX coding knowledge to support accurate service billing and documentation
• Follow HIPAA and OSHA policies to protect patient privacy and maintain a safe clinic environment
• Participate in business marketing and referral development activities as needed

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy (required); active license or plan to test soon for licensure in California
• Comfortable with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and standard clinic computer tasks (Word, typing, email)
• Proficient in ICD-10 coding and familiar with Medicare, workers' comp and outpatient billing processes
• Ability to supervise PT Assistants and Aides and make independent clinical decisions
• Physically able to perform 8-10 hour clinic days, lift up to 50 pounds and assist with patient transfers
• Committed to HIPAA compliance and high standards of patient privacy

Education

• Degree in Physical Therapy (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient evaluation, treatment planning and rehabilitation techniques
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation and charting
• ICD-10/DX coding and outpatient billing familiarity (Medicare, workers' comp, private pay)
• Patient mobilization, transfer techniques and fall-prevention strategies
• Strong written and verbal communication with physicians, staff and patients
• Ability to supervise and mentor PT Assistants and Aides
• Basic computer skills (Word, Internet, typing) and clinical documentation best practices
