Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile fields
• Assist surgeons and scrub team by passing instruments and anticipating procedural needs
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and ensure infection control standards are followed
• Perform sponge, needle and instrument counts accurately and document appropriately
• Manage surgical instrumentation and equipment — set up, operate, and troubleshoot as needed
• Collaborate with perioperative team to promote patient safety, positioning, and timely turnover
• Document perioperative care and communicate effectively during handoffs

Qualifications

• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential required
• Minimum of 1 year of OR/CST experience (as listed in the job posting)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent as required by facility
• Ability to work early day shift hours and support a fast-paced OR environment
• Strong teamwork, communication, and attention to detail
• Ability to pass facility onboarding, background check, and credentialing

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative procedures
• Familiarity with common surgical instrumentation and OR equipment
• Ability to follow surgical counts and documentation procedures
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety protocols
• Good situational awareness and the ability to anticipate surgical team needs
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced operating room
