Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care in the preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative phases
• Serve as the circulating nurse who advocates for the patient throughout the surgical experience
• Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to standards of care
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
• Follow facility policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance
• Communicate clearly with unit leadership, including the Unit Nurse Manager and RN Team Leader, about patient status and unit needs

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or eligibility for state licensure
• Experience in perioperative nursing as a circulating or surgical RN
• Demonstrated ability to advocate for patients and lead assigned staff
• Familiarity with nursing process, standards of care, and perioperative policies and procedures
• Comfort working 12.5-hour day shifts and adapting to a flexible schedule
• BLS certification recommended; other perioperative certifications a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Completion of an accredited nursing program with clinical perioperative experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles across preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care
• Circulating nurse duties, OR flow, and sterile technique
• Strong patient advocacy and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and direct support personnel effectively
• Understanding of unit-based policies, standards of care and documentation
• Teamwork and unit communication to support surgical safety and efficiency
