Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive OB/GYN ultrasound exams across 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimesters, including fetal anatomical surveys and amniotic fluid index measurements
• Provide high-risk OB imaging and outpatient OB/GYN studies with attention to detail and patient safety
• Conduct general and small parts ultrasound studies such as abdominal aorta, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, breast, thyroid and superficial masses
• Obtain neonatal imaging measurements including bone lengths, cerebellum, ventricles, head and heart studies
• Perform renal and pelvic scans including bladder, ovaries, uterus, prostate and related studies
• Document findings accurately and timely in EPIC and collaborate with the care team to support treatment decisions
• Operate GE ultrasound systems skillfully and maintain equipment and supply readiness
• Participate in storm/hurricane or disaster response teams as assigned to support continuity of care

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) required
• ARDMS and ARDMS OB/GYN certifications required; ARDMS FE and NT preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of diagnostic sonography experience
• Experience with GE ultrasound equipment and EPIC charting required
• Comfortable with high-risk OB and outpatient OB/GYN settings
• Willingness to float to other units as needed and participate in emergency response teams

Education

• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program and active RDMS credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in OB/GYN ultrasound including fetal anatomical survey and placenta previa assessment
• Strong general ultrasound abilities: abdominal, pediatric abdomen/pelvis, spleen, appendix
• Small parts competence: breast ultrasound and cyst aspiration, thyroid, testicular/scrotal imaging
• Neonatal imaging knowledge including head and heart measures
• Solid EPIC charting skills and documentation best practices
• Technical proficiency with GE ultrasound platforms
• Patient-focused communication, professionalism, and teamwork
