Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients using evidence-based practices
Perform assessment and monitoring of respiratory status and oxygenation
Administer respiratory treatments and manage therapeutic equipment safely
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and update patient care plans
Document patient care accurately and communicate changes in condition promptly
Participate in orientation and training to maintain high-quality standards

Qualifications

Current Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT preferred) or equivalent certification
Active or eligible for Missouri respiratory licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
Experience in an acute care setting preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills considered
Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and communicate clearly with patients and staff

Education

Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related allied health field (Bachelor's preferred where noted)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of respiratory assessment, oxygen therapy and ventilator management
Ability to operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment safely
Familiarity with charting and electronic medical record documentation
Good critical thinking and clinical decision-making under pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach
