Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients’ respiratory status and deliver high-quality respiratory care
Administer and monitor treatments including aerosol therapy and oxygen therapy
Operate, troubleshoot and care for ventilators and other respiratory equipment
Document treatment plans and patient responses clearly and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to create patient-centered plans
Provide patient and family education with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

Active Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT preferred)
Washington state licensure (or ability to obtain WA license)
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS/ACLS preferred depending on unit needs
Comfort working with pediatric patients and their families
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent; RRT preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of respiratory assessment techniques and treatment modalities
Proficiency with ventilators, airway management and respiratory equipment
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
Patient education and family-centered communication skills
