Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based respiratory care for pediatric patients
• Administer respiratory therapies, monitor patient response, and adjust treatments as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Perform routine respiratory assessments and document findings accurately
• Operate and maintain respiratory equipment following safety protocols
• Participate in orientation and training to ensure consistent, high-quality care

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist credential (CRT or RRT) — required or preferred depending on facility policy
• State respiratory licensure or eligibility to obtain Ohio licensure
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; pediatric certifications encouraged
• Comfortable working with pediatric patients and families
• Willingness to complete facility orientation prior to clinical shifts

Education

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical knowledge of pediatric respiratory care and common interventions
• Familiarity with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, and aerosol therapies
• Excellent communication skills for working with children, families, and care teams
• Good documentation practices and attention to detail
• Ability to triage, prioritize, and respond calmly in urgent situations
