Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer comprehensive respiratory care and therapeutic modalities to evaluate and treat cardiopulmonary conditions, following physician orders and protocols
• Deliver medications via aerosol and metered-dose inhalers safely and effectively
• Respond immediately to Rapid Responses, arrests, and STAT situations; maintain artificial airways and provide high-quality CPR and cardiac compressions
• Set up, maintain, and monitor all oxygen systems and ensure compliance with protocols
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and accurately interpret and document results
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team and document patient care in Epic

Qualifications

• Active RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential through NBRC required
• Minimum 2+ years of RRT experience required
• Active Michigan license (LARA) required and must state Active Michigan/MI License
• Current American Heart Association certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years and an up-to-date skills checklist (within 1 year)
• Previous travel respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Candidates must provide permanent address; facility will not consider local candidates within a 50-mile radius

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong airway management and oxygen therapy skills
• Proficient with aerosol and metered-dose inhaler medication delivery
• Experience with emergency response, code response, and CPR
• Competence in cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and interpretation
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system
• Ability to work independently and in consultation with physicians under emergent and routine conditions
