Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, maintaining vigilant cardiac rhythm observation
• Interpret basic cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to arrhythmias
• Administer medications safely following hospital protocols and basic pharmacology principles
• Perform timely documentation in the medical record and communicate changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
• Respond to emergencies using BLS/ACLS/PALS skills and participate in rapid response situations
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with verification via Nursys or equivalent
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• CPI and DCI/BVP certifications as required by the facility
• Telemetry nursing experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Completion of Prime competency testing and specialty/skills exams (Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam)
• Required immunizations and screenings: COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, TB testing or positive PPD with negative CXR, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry nursing principles and continuous cardiac monitoring
• Basic rhythm interpretation and ECG recognition
• Foundational pharmacology for safe medication administration
• Strong assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
• Proficiency with license/certificate verification processes (Nursys)
• Clear communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
