Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in the Step-Down Unit
• Monitor and assess patient condition, interpreting data to guide timely interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document care thoroughly
• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Escalate changes in patient status promptly to ensure safe, effective outcomes

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Louisiana
• Experience caring for patients in a Step-Down Unit or similar acute care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Reliable professional references and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of telemetry and progressive care nursing
• Familiarity with medication administration and IV therapy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex patients
• Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and team members
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation skills
• Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice
