Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor pediatric patients in the post-anesthesia care unit following procedures
Provide compassionate, developmentally appropriate care and education to children and families
Administer medications and treatments safely and document appropriately
Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and ancillary staff to ensure smooth recoveries
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating concerns promptly
Maintain accurate electronic records and handoffs to inpatient teams

Qualifications

Current, active Registered Nurse license (Missouri) required
Experience or interest in Post Anesthesia Care Unit and pediatric patient care
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) highly preferred
Strong assessment skills and ability to work in a fast-paced perioperative environment
Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to complete orientation and any facility onboarding requirements

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Post-anesthesia assessment and monitoring
Pediatric airway and pain management basics
IV therapy and medication administration in pediatrics
Familiarity with PACU protocols and recovery milestones
Accurate documentation and electronic charting
Effective interdisciplinary communication and handoff skills
