Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality circulating nursing care in the Operating Room for General Surgery, ENT, Urology/Gynecology, Orthopedics, robotics and CVOR procedures
• Collaborate actively with surgeons, anesthesia, surgical techs and perioperative teams to deliver seamless patient care
• Document perioperative care accurately and timely in Meditech OR
• Maintain strict sterile technique and ensure instruments and robotics setup meet procedural needs
• Assess patients preop and coordinate handoffs with Preop Holding and post-anesthesia teams
• Respond to on-call activations within the required 30-minute window and provide reliable coverage for weekends and weekdays
• Participate in daily huddles and contribute to a fast-paced, flexible team environment focused on continuous improvement
• Support patient-centered safety practices including 1:1 patient ratios when required

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Texas (required)
• Minimum 2 years OR circulating experience in an acute care hospital (required)
• BLS certification required
• CVOR experience and robotics experience strongly preferred
• CNOR certification is a plus
• Experience with Meditech OR (or similar EMR) preferred
• Ability to work day shifts with on-call and weekend responsibilities, strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Current Texas RN license
• BLS certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech OR or comparable perioperative EMR
• Knowledge of OR workflows for General Surgery, ENT, Gyn, Urology, Orthopedics and Vascular procedures
• Experience supporting robotic surgical platforms and heavy robotics cases
• Perioperative nursing principles, sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to triage, prioritize and respond quickly under pressure
• Comfortable with on-call operations and rapid mobilization
