Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal nursing care in the NICU, assessing and monitoring infants' condition with vigilance and clinical skill
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed in accordance with NRP and BLS guidelines
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapy safely and accurately
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain detailed, timely documentation and complete required competency and specialty assessments
• Communicate compassionately with families, offering education and emotional support during critical moments
• Adhere to hospital policies and required health screenings to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license (California) required; license/certificate verification will be completed
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• DCI/BVP certification required (as listed)
• Ability to successfully complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Must meet required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, flu, drug screen, fit test)
• Per diem availability for night shifts; previous NICU experience preferred

Education

• Nursing degree required (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal assessment and monitoring skills, including interpreting vital signs and lab values
• Proficiency with neonatal respiratory support and common NICU equipment
• Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and emergency response capabilities
• Excellent communication skills for working with families and interdisciplinary teams
• Thorough documentation practices and familiarity with competency-based assessments
• Commitment to infection control and adherence to occupational health requirements
