Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg Pediatrics unit
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized care plans for pediatric patients
Administer medications and treatments safely and document care accurately
Collaborate with physicians, therapists and the care team to coordinate care
Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
Monitor patient status closely and escalate changes in condition promptly
Participate in orientation and precepting to support new team members

Qualifications

Current, active RN license (California) — required
Med/Surg and pediatric experience preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; PALS preferred or willing to obtain
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to prioritize in a busy unit
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Ability to pass facility onboarding and orientation processes

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
Active RN license in good standing

Knowledge & Skills

Solid understanding of pediatric Med/Surg nursing principles
Proficient in medication administration and documentation
Skilled in patient/family education and discharge planning
Familiarity with basic IV therapy and monitoring
Comfortable working within interdisciplinary teams
Good time management, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
