Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
• Assess patients, monitor clinical status, and document findings clearly and timely
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to policy
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members and communicate with families
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Participate in admissions, discharges and patient education to support recovery
• Maintain accurate electronic health record documentation and follow unit protocols

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications preferred as applicable
• Clinical experience in Medical-Surgical nursing preferred
• Strong assessment, prioritization and time-management skills
• Ability to work effectively on a fast-paced unit and collaborate with a team
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks as required by facility

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Medical-Surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency with medication administration, IV therapy and patient monitoring
• Comfortable using Electronic Health Record systems for charting and orders
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and clinical teams
• Critical thinking and clinical judgment for timely interventions
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic acute care environment
