Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts — primarily Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12-hour nights per week); may rotate to Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM based on departmental needs. Schedule reviewed every 4 weeks; includes weekend coverage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adults and geriatric patients on a Med-Surg Oncology/Telemetry unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to dysrhythmias promptly and competently
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and symptom-management interventions with attention to safety protocols
• Manage vascular access devices including ports, PICCs and central lines and perform IV starts as needed
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and manage high-flow nasal cannula and other respiratory supports
• Administer blood products and titrate infusions while following strict infection-prevention standards
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and contribute to clinical decision-making
• Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed to meet patient care demands

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (must be eligible to practice in Ohio)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (must meet within the last 3 years; at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass)
• BLS certification required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Comfort with a 1:4 patient ratio on this unit
• Previous travel experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to learn, grow your nursing practice, and float to similar acuity units

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — state licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy administration
• Vascular access skills: port access, PICC and central line care
• IV therapy including IV starts and Alaris pump familiarity
• Blood product administration and transfusion safety
• Respiratory support: HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care
• ABG interpretation and insulin drip titration experience
• Familiarity with GE telemetry systems, bladder scanner, and Stryker beds
• Strong infection prevention and patient-fall prevention practices
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
