Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night). 12-hour day/night rotating option available; first week orientation is Mon-Fri days, second week includes 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor. Shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; specific days may vary based on staffing needs.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to a mixed-acuity PCU/MS Tele oncology population, prioritizing patient safety and dignity
- Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating when needed
- Administer and manage IV therapies, blood products, and central/PICC line care with meticulous technique
- Support infection prevention and fall prevention initiatives through vigilant assessment and intervention
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT, RT, Pharmacy, Social Services, Radiology) to coordinate comprehensive care
- Respond to rapid response and code situations as a skilled team member, using established protocols
- Document accurately and timely in Epic to ensure continuity of care
- Float to equivalent MS/Tele units as needed and adapt quickly to unit-specific workflows
- Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities, including optional chemotherapy training
Qualifications
- Current RN license in good standing (state authorization to practice)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- 2 years of experience preferred (oncology preferred but not required); must meet recent experience guidelines and have at least 1 year of current specialty experience for clinical pass
- Ability to float to equivalent or lower acuity MS/Tele units
- Previous travel experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to learn and participate in unit-specific training such as chemotherapy course if desired
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias and emergency cardiac response
- IV therapy: starting and maintaining peripheral IVs, peripheral line care
- Central line skills: central line blood draws and PICC line management
- Blood product administration
- Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI) management
- PCA pump use and medication management
- Respiratory support skills: BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care
- Chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
- Wound care and Wound VAC experience
- Isolation precautions, infection prevention, and fall prevention protocols
- Familiarity with Alaris pumps and GE telemetry (B450) monitor systems
- Phlebotomy and port access/management
