Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) nursing care for obstetric patients
• Manage and titrate obstetric drips such as Pitocin, magnesium and Procardia per unit protocols
• Perform neonatal resuscitation when needed and collaborate closely with the newborn team
• Use EPIC to document patient care, communicate changes, and support continuity across shifts
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios in accordance with AWHONN guidelines (1:3; 1:1 for laboring patients)
• Participate in unit orientation, competency evaluations and the required pass/fail skills exam during onboarding
• Serve as an advocate for breastfeeding and high patient experience standards on the unit

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license (eligible to submit required)
• BLS (required)
• NRP (required)
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Comfortable titrating drips and managing common obstetric medications (Pitocin, magnesium, Procardia)
• Familiarity with EPIC charting preferred
• Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (radius rule applies)
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (e.g., fingernail/artificial nail policy) and pass orientation exam (90% pass threshold)

Education

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Labor & Delivery clinical skills and LDRP experience
• Neonatal resuscitation knowledge and experience (NRP)
• Medication titration for obstetric indications
• Comfort with EPIC electronic charting
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines and safe staffing ratios
• Ability to work collaboratively with charge nurses and multidisciplinary teams
• Good clinical assessment, patient education, and postpartum support skills
