Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult ICU patients
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status using clinical judgement
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and emergencies
• Educate patients and families about care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Contribute to unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in Louisiana (or compact RN license where applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained quickly after hire
• Previous ICU experience preferred (critical care experience strongly desired)
• Comfort with ventilator management, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care nursing principles and best practices
• Familiarity with ICU equipment: ventilators, hemodynamic monitors, infusion pumps
• Medication administration and titration for critical care medications
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage high-acuity patients
• Effective teamwork, documentation, and patient/family communication
