Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage incoming patients quickly and accurately to prioritize care
• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing interventions and monitor patient status
• Coordinate care and communicate clearly with physicians, techs, and support staff
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about care plans, diagnostics, and follow-up needs
• Respond calmly and efficiently to codes, critical events, and high-acuity situations
• Advocate for patient safety and continuous quality improvement in the ER

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license in California
• Experience in emergency nursing preferred; per diem roles welcome for experienced RNs
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS strongly preferred or able to obtain
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented emergency environment
• Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and compassion for patients

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency nursing workflows
• IV therapy, medication administration, wound care, and acute patient monitoring
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely, accurate documentation
• Ability to remain composed under pressure and prioritize multiple high-acuity patients
• Effective teamwork, clear communication, and patient-centered bedside manner
