Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, self-scheduling with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care for ED holds waiting for placement on med/surg/tele units
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms while managing titratable drips like Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
Collaborate with physicians to safely decrease cardiac drips according to orders and parameters
Support the care team by floating to med/surg/tele and overflow units as needed
Assist with ED tasks such as vitals, IV starts, and medication administration when requested
Read and interpret telemetry strips independently without a monitor tech

Qualifications

Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years recent cardiac telemetry experience within the past 6 months
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam through RELIAS within 48 hours of offer (2 attempts max)
Comfortable completing a pass/fail SIM lab on day one of orientation
Strong cardiac tele background with experience titrating drips

Knowledge & Skills

Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Titration of drips including Cardizem, Heparin, and Amiodarone
Floating between multiple campuses and units with a positive attitude
Self-scheduling and adapting to changing needs
Supporting ED holds with a focus on med/surg/tele care
