Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality physical therapy evaluations and treatments across outpatient, inpatient and SNF settings
• Develop and implement individualized home exercise programs to promote patient independence
• Use strong clinical reasoning to manage orthopedic and neurologic diagnoses, including post-op care and post-stroke rehabilitation
• Educate patients and families to support ongoing recovery and safe function at home
• Document thoroughly in the facility charting system to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Adapt care within scope to meet facility needs while following facility-specific protocols

Qualifications

• Current state Physical Therapy license (pending licenses accepted for this assignment)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• Experience in at least one of the following settings preferred: Outpatient, Acute Care, LTC/SNF
• First-time travelers accepted; prior travel experience is not required
• Candidates must have a permanent address at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
• If previously employed as permanent staff at any Providence facility, must be separated for at least 3 months prior to travel assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Physical therapy assessment and treatment planning
• Body mechanics and safe patient handling
• Orthopedic management including total hip and knee replacement care
• Neurologic rehab skills including post-stroke and spinal cord injury care
• Home exercise program design and patient/family education
• Familiarity with electronic charting systems and thorough documentation
• Ability to work across outpatient, inpatient and skilled nursing facility environments
