Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Variable 4-hour shifts (start times vary), SPT shift type; orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $31 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Monitor patients closely to ensure safety and well-being during observation periods
Provide continuous visual supervision and remain attentive to patient needs
Document observations clearly and report any changes to nursing staff promptly
Assist with simple, non-clinical tasks to keep patients comfortable and oriented
Communicate effectively with the care team to escalate concerns and support care plans
Respect patient privacy and dignity while maintaining a safe environment

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or patient observation role is a plus
Comfortable working with patients who may be agitated, confused, or require close supervision
Strong observation and communication skills with an eye for detail
Ability to complete orientation and any required facility training
CPR certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required by facility

Education

High school diploma or GED required; additional healthcare coursework or certifications a plus

Knowledge & Skills

Patient observation and safety best practices
Clear and concise documentation skills
Ability to communicate calmly and effectively with patients and clinical staff
De-escalation and patient engagement techniques
Basic familiarity with hospital policies and infection control procedures
Professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
