Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents during night shifts
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Monitor and document patient status, reporting changes promptly to the care team
• Assist with activities of daily living and support patient comfort and safety
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary staff to execute care plans
• Maintain accurate electronic and paper records in accordance with facility policies
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license - Maine license preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or willingness to obtain
• Comfort working night shifts and independently managing patient care on per diem assignments
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused attitude
• Previous LPN experience in a long-term care or similar setting preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Basic wound care and infection prevention
• Vital signs monitoring and recognizing clinical changes
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time across a 12-plus hour night shift
