Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care to residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with policy and provider orders
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions accurately in the chart
• Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, therapists, and leadership to deliver coordinated care
• Assist residents with activities of daily living and promote independence when possible
• Support families with clear, kind communication and updates about care
• Respond to emergencies and changes in condition following facility protocols

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Maine or eligibility for Maine licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Current immunizations per facility policy (e.g., TB screening, flu as required)
• Dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working overnight shifts

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate documentation
• Assessment of vital signs and recognition of clinical changes
• Basic wound care and dressing changes
• Familiarity with electronic health records and charting
• Infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Strong communication, patient advocacy, and teamwork skills
