Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to laboring women, newborns and families using the nursing process
• Assess and continuously monitor maternal and fetal status, intervening promptly when needed
• Deliver skilled care for GYN surgical and general post-op patients, including circulation management
• Collaborate closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, anesthesia and the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes
• Assist with labor and delivery procedures and support families through the birthing experience
• Document care accurately and professionally, ensuring continuity across shifts
• Teach and counsel patients and families on newborn care, postpartum recovery and discharge planning
• Respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies with calm, evidence-based action

Qualifications

• Active NH RN License (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 5 years labor and post-partum experience (job text states 5 years; an additional section also references 2+ years of L&D experience)
• Circulation experience and willingness to care for GYN surgical and general post-op patients
• Ability to work every 3rd weekend (scheduling requirement)
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and attention to organization and accuracy

Education

• Active NH RN License (required)
• BLS Certification (required)

• Maternal-Newborn nursing and Maternal-Child Health principles
• Nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
• Patient-centered care and family education
• Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in obstetrics and neonatal care
• Experience with circulation management and post-operative care
• Effective interpersonal skills and professional communication
