Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Shift Type: Night shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and support to geriatric residents
Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
Monitor residents and report changes in condition to the nursing team promptly
Document care accurately and maintain clear, timely records
Support safe mobility, transfers, and fall-prevention measures
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver person-centered care
Help create a warm, dignified environment where residents feel respected

Qualifications

Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable working overnight and supporting the needs of older adults
Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset
Dependable, punctual, and able to follow facility policies and procedures

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Basic knowledge of geriatric care and resident-centered practices
Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
Familiarity with infection control and safety protocols
Good documentation and time-management skills
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with residents and families
