Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, supporting dignity and independence
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Help with safe transfers and mobility assistance using proper techniques
• Observe, document, and report resident changes to the nursing team promptly
• Support mealtime assistance and hydration to promote resident wellness
• Encourage social engagement and meaningful activity to boost quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment and follow infection control practices
• Work collaboratively with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver excellent care

Qualifications

• State Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or equivalent
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatrics is preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for resident care and safe transfers

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification or completion of state-approved training program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and resident-centered care
• Basic clinical skills: taking vitals, documentation, and observing changes
• Safe lifting and transfer techniques to protect residents and staff
• Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate resident care
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Professional attitude, empathy, and cultural sensitivity
