Location: Brooklyn Park, MD

Shift Type: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, nights (Night shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respectful, compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff to ensure safe, effective care
Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to maintain comfort and dignity
Support mealtime service and hydration, following dietary instructions and preferences
Document care accurately and timely, maintaining confidentiality and clear communication
Contribute to a positive, home-like environment by engaging residents and supporting activities

Qualifications

Valid GNA certification (or state-equivalent certification) required
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained upon hire
Comfortable working with older adults and those with chronic conditions or cognitive impairment
Willingness to complete required background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Reliable, punctual, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program or state-recognized equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic geriatric care and principles of dignity-focused assistance
Skill in safe patient handling and transferring techniques
Ability to observe and report changes in resident status
Basic documentation skills and familiarity with care charting
Infection control practices and safe hygiene procedures
Empathy, patience, and the ability to engage residents respectfully
