Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem (days vary), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Night shift)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide respectful, compassionate care to geriatric residents, supporting activities of daily living
Assist with bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting and mobility safely and kindly
Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to nursing staff
Support a comfortable environment by observing residents and escalating concerns promptly
Document care activities clearly and timely in the resident record
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident dignity and independence

Qualifications

Active GNA certification or equivalent in the state of Maryland
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Willingness to pass background check, drug screen, and any facility onboarding requirements
Previous experience in long term care or geriatrics is a plus

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved Geriatric Nursing Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

Basic clinical care for older adults, including ADLs and mobility assistance
Vital signs measurement and basic observation of clinical changes
Resident-centered care and dementia-aware approaches
Clear, compassionate communication with residents and families
Reliable documentation and time management for per diem shifts
Teamwork and flexibility in a fast-paced care environment
