Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per diem (variable days), 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Evening)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, respectful care to geriatric residents and support their daily comfort
Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
Support safe transfers and mobility, following proper body mechanics and safety protocols
Take and record basic vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and resident interactions
Work closely with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to communicate resident needs
Help maintain a clean, safe, and dignified environment for residents

Qualifications

GNA certification (Class: GNA) — aligned with the job classification
Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Compassionate bedside manner and strong communication skills
Ability to follow facility policies, procedures, and infection control practices
Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings a plus

Education

GNA certification (required or aligned to position)
High school diploma or GED preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of geriatric care needs and dignity-focused approaches
Skilled in activities of daily living (ADL) assistance and safe transfers
Basic clinical skills: measuring vital signs and observing resident status
Familiarity with documentation practices and basic electronic charting
Strong teamwork, time management, and attention to safety
