Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents, preserving dignity and comfort
• Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Support safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor resident condition and communicate changes promptly to nursing staff
• Document care accurately and timely to support continuity and quality of care
• Create a warm, respectful environment that promotes resident well-being and engagement

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (required)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations a plus
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, professional, and committed to resident-centered care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic geriatric care and common age-related conditions
• Skilled in safe patient handling, transfers, and mobility assistance
• Ability to observe and report changes in resident condition
• Comfortable with bedside documentation and basic electronic charting
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
• Compassionate interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
