Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on occupational therapy support to patients under the direction of an OT
• Deliver purposeful interventions that help patients regain independence in activities of daily living
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and execute personalized treatment plans
• Document patient progress clearly and promptly to ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families on techniques and home programs to reinforce gains
• Maintain safety standards and equipment while adapting activities to each patient’s needs

Qualifications

• Active COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
• Ability to practice in California or obtain any required state approvals for this assignment
• Comfort working in a rehab/contract facility setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and drug screening as required
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL retraining and adaptive technique instruction
• Proficient documentation and charting to support clinical outcomes
• Knowledge of basic therapeutic modalities and adaptive equipment
• Ability to assess functional needs and assist with goal-driven interventions
• Excellent interpersonal skills for coaching patients and coordinating with staff
