Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents and patients
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and document changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and follow-up needs
• Respond to and manage clinical situations and emergencies with calm and competence
• Maintain accurate, timely electronic health record documentation and handoffs

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine license or compact as applicable)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) a plus
• Demonstrated ability to administer medications, perform clinical assessments, and document care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings preferred but not required

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in medication administration and patient assessment
• Skilled at electronic health record documentation and accurate charting
• Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety standards
• Good clinical judgment, time management, and prioritization skills
• Comfortable educating patients and families in a clear, supportive manner
