Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to elderly residents, prioritizing dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor resident status and report changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support safe transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistance devices
• Document care provided accurately and maintain clear communication with the care team
• Create a friendly, reassuring environment that promotes resident well-being and independence

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) in good standing
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings/immunizations
• Reliable transportation and a professional, team-oriented attitude
• Previous experience caring for older adults or in long-term care settings is a plus

Education

• GNA certification required; High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic patient care techniques and safe transfer methods
• Comfortable assisting with personal care tasks while preserving resident dignity
• Good vital signs observation and reporting skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with residents and interdisciplinary staff
• Understanding of infection control, HIPAA, and resident rights
