Geriatric Nursing Assistant
Location: Lanham, MD
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Per diem, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Day shift, as scheduled)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric patients and residents
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and feeding
- Support rehabilitation activities under the supervision of nursing staff
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition, including vital signs
- Document care accurately and communicate clearly with the care team
- Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for residents
- Engage residents with dignity and encourage independence whenever possible
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Previous experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Geriatric Nursing Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on geriatric care and understanding of ADLs
- Safe patient transfers and mobility assistance techniques
- Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical observation
- Infection control and basic safety practices
- Accurate documentation and electronic charting familiarity
- Compassionate patient interaction and family communication
