Roles & Responsibilities

• Set up procedural rooms and equipment for endoscopy cases, ensuring everything is ready when clinicians need it
• Process, clean, and perform high-level disinfection on endoscopes and instruments with meticulous attention to infection control
• Assist during procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EBUS and EUS by providing procedural support and passing instruments
• Perform room turnover and restock supplies to maintain efficient workflow throughout the day
• Handle specimens (gastric brushings, pathology specimens, frozen sections) with accurate labeling and appropriate chain-of-custody practices
• Chart procedural and patient information in Epic, maintaining clear and timely documentation
• Participate in Universal Protocol time-outs and uphold sterile technique and patient safety standards
• Float within scope to meet facility needs and respond to on-call assignments as scheduled

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of endoscopy experience (first-timers accepted)
• Demonstrated skills with EUS, EBUS, ERCP, ION, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy
• Experience with scope processing, high-level disinfection, instrument processing and room turnover
• Comfortable charting in Epic (preferred)
• Willingness to be on-call every 5th weekend
• Locals not accepted — candidate permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in endoscope cleaning and high-level disinfection procedures
• Skilled in procedure setup and intra-procedural assistance
• Strong infection control and sterilization/disinfection knowledge
• Familiarity with specimen handling and pathology specimen processing
• Experience with outpatient and inpatient endoscopy workflows
• Comfortable using Epic for documentation and charting
