Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds to keep the facility safe and reliable
• Supervise and mentor approximately 45 FTEs, fostering a collaborative, high-performance team
• Direct maintenance activities to ensure continuous utility services like heat, steam, power, gas, and medical oxygen
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend equipment life and minimize downtime
• Ensure contractor work complies with hospital policies and regulatory agency requirements
• Partner with clinical and departmental leaders to assess needs and develop actionable facility plans
• Maintain compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS, and local building and fire codes
• Create job-specific customer service expectations and training plans to support staff and patient satisfaction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred
• Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience overseeing multi-discipline teams
• Strong knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC, and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes, construction phasing, and environmental services operations
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and repair complex systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area is required

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field preferred

• Facilities Management and Plant Operations expertise
• Preventative maintenance planning and execution
• Regulatory compliance (NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS) and life safety awareness
• Leadership, personnel management, and contractor coordination
• Hands-on systems knowledge: electrical, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and building systems
• Familiarity with EVS operations, bio-waste procedures, and autoclaving
• Strong communication, customer service orientation, and training development
