Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perioperative care in the CVOR, ensuring patient safety before, during, and after procedures
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields and surgical instrumentation, including support for DaVinci XI robotic cases
• Monitor hemodynamic and clinical status, identifying and escalating changes promptly
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR team members to optimize case flow and patient outcomes
• Respond to on-call needs and call-backs professionally and efficiently when scheduled
• Complete accurate documentation, pass required competency checks, and participate in required assessments
• Serve as a patient advocate, educating patients and families about perioperative care and recovery

Qualifications

• Current state RN license preferred (active, in good standing)
• Minimum 3 years CVOR experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with DaVinci XI robotic systems and acute care hospital settings
• DCI/BVP and Nursys registration preferred
• Completion of Prime assessments and skills checks as required (pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty exam)
• Required immunizations and health screening: COVID-19, MMR, TB testing, Hepatitis B, influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit testing and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative nursing and CVOR clinical expertise
• Proficient in robotic-assisted surgical workflows (DaVinci XI)
• Excellent sterile technique and instrumentation knowledge
• Critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity settings
• Effective communication and teamwork in the operating room
• Accurate EHR and perioperative documentation skills
