Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
Assist residents with mobility, bathing, dressing, and grooming while promoting dignity
Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
Document care accurately and maintain clear, timely charts
Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control practices
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the care team to support excellent outcomes

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification for Connecticut (required)
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility for elderly residents
Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads welcome

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved CNA program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
Basic vital signs and observation skills
Infection control and safe patient handling
Accurate documentation and charting
Empathy, patience, and effective communication with residents and families
Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans
