Shift Type: 4x10 day shifts (Day shift 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), schedule varies with approximately 1 Saturday per month included as part of the 4 scheduled shifts; on-call coverage: 1 day per week and every 4th/5th weekend (Friday 6:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM) — day and night coverage required (day_night)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality peri-procedural nursing care in the cardiac cath lab for adult and geriatric patients
- Assist and circulate during left and right heart catheterizations and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI)
- Monitor procedural sedation and manage hemodynamics, including interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Perform sheath removal, topical hemostasis, and post-procedure monitoring to ensure patient safety
- Document accurately and efficiently in Epic to maintain clear, up-to-date patient records
- Provide IV therapy, start and maintain IVs, and administer blood products and emergency medications as needed
- Float to Electrophysiology (EP) or Interventional Radiology (IR) labs as necessary to meet unit needs
- Respond to on-call duties (weekday and weekend coverage) and support emergency cases when called
Qualifications
- Active AK RN license required (must have license in hand for auto offer)
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures, catheterization, and interventional care
- Comfortable charting in Epic and following facility documentation standards
- Willingness to float to EP/IR and participate in on-call weekend coverage
- Locals not accepted — permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
- First-time travelers accepted
Education
- Active RN license in Alaska required (degree not specified in posting)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac cath lab procedures including left/right heart catheterization and PCI
- Interventional catheterizations and use of devices (Impella, IABP, rotablator, shockwave)
- Monitoring procedural sedation and end-tidal CO2
- Sheath removal, topical hemostasis (D-Stat, Chito-Seal, Syvek Patch), and ACT awareness
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and antiarrhythmic therapies
- IV therapy, blood product administration, and IV infusion pump management
- Ventilator management and familiarity with critical care support
- Epic charting and clear clinical documentation
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and sterile technique
- Ability to work in hybrid OR, interventional radiology, and diagnostic cath lab settings
