Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate observations to nursing staff
• Support mealtime and feeding assistance while promoting independence where possible
• Document care activities accurately and maintain resident confidentiality
• Collaborate with the care team to create a warm, safe, and engaging environment for older adults

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification in the state of Maryland
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working with geriatric populations and skilled in safe transfer techniques
• Background check and appropriate immunizations as required by facility
• Friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and a patient-centered approach

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Ability to assist with ADLs while promoting resident independence
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Good teamwork and communication with nurses, therapists, and families
• Compassionate bedside manner and de-escalation skills when needed
