Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely emergency nursing care including triage, assessment, and ongoing patient management
• Participate in acute interventions such as conscious sedation and intubation support when needed
• Manage time-sensitive conditions including sepsis, stroke (TPA administration), and chest pain alerts with confidence and speed
• Monitor and provide behavioral health watch care for patients requiring observation
• Document care accurately in Meditech and maintain clear communication with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
• Float as required by unit policy and adapt to unit needs while maintaining high standards of care
• Respond to call requirements and contribute to a safe, efficient emergency department environment

Qualifications

• Active TX RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department RN experience
• Must-have certifications: PALS or ENPC, ACLS, BLS, TNCC; NIHSS certification required
• Ability to participate in procedures such as conscious sedation and intubation support
• Comfort using Meditech documentation system is preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced ED setting
• CEN certification is preferred but not mandatory

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid emergency nursing fundamentals and triage decision-making
• Experience with Meditech electronic documentation
• Skill in stroke assessment and NIHSS scoring
• Sepsis recognition and rapid intervention workflow
• Ability to assist with conscious sedation and intubations
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
• Familiarity with ED protocols for chest pain, behavioral health watch, and rapid response situations
