Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, rotating schedule; includes every third weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor laboring patients and their progress with confidence and compassion
- Perform continuous fetal heart monitoring and interpret tracings accurately
- Initiate and lead neonatal resuscitation (NRP) when newborns need immediate support
- Collaborate closely with OB physicians, midwives and the multidisciplinary team for excellent outcomes
- Provide patient- and family-centered education and emotional support during labor and delivery
- Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
- Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and maintain required skills checklists
- Respond to obstetric emergencies using ACLS/BLS protocols and teamwork
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license (able to practice in Iowa)
- BLS (required)
- ACLS (required)
- NRP (required)
- AWHONN and/or Fetal Heart Monitoring certification (required)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Successful license/certificate verification and required health screenings
- Ability to work night shifts and rotating weekends with professionalism and stamina
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of labor and delivery practices and maternal/newborn physiology
- Proficiency in fetal heart monitoring interpretation and strip trending
- Skilled in neonatal resuscitation and immediate post-delivery care
- Excellent assessment, stabilization and emergency response skills
- Clear clinical documentation and effective communication with patients and team
- Comfort working in a fast-paced L&D environment and adapting to changing priorities
