Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and deliver evidence-based respiratory care to patients across the lifespan
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway therapies with precision and attention to safety
• Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code and rapid response teams
• Perform and document specialty-specific competency tasks and skills checklists
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care plans
• Maintain accurate patient records, equipment checks, and infection control practices

Qualifications

• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• NRP certification required
• License/Certificate Verification required (state Respiratory Therapist license as applicable)
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist prior to start
• Current immunizations and health screenings as listed by facility (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, drug screen, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and airway support
• Proficiency in neonatal and pediatric resuscitation principles (NRP and PALS)
• Skilled in respiratory assessment, diagnostic testing, and treatment planning
• Familiarity with infection control practices and documentation standards
• Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
